Sponsorship Opportunities Still Available for Activities and Entertainment

GERMANTOWN, Maryland -- August 2, 2006 -- The 24th Germantown Oktoberfest, a family-oriented festival held each fall to benefit local organizations, is now accepting applications from local businesses, community organizations and crafters that are interested in running booths at the festival on Saturday, October 7 at Ridge Road Park in Germantown. Booth inquires are being reviewed and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and the Germantown Oktoberfest Committee strongly encourages interested vendors to inquire as soon as possible because booth space is limited.

The application for businesses, community organizations and crafters is now available on the Germantown Oktoberfest web site at www.GermantownOktoberfest.org, or by writing to P.O. The annual festival receives a large part of its funding in the form of donations from businesses and other organizations in the Germantown area. Sponsorships are still available, and opportunities range from supporting sponsor to entertainment sponsor.

About Germantown Oktoberfest
The 2006 Germantown Oktoberfest will take place Saturday, October 7 at Ridge Road Park on Rt. 355 in Germantown, Maryland. The family-oriented event, which features arts and crafts, music and games, will begin at 11:00 am and end at dark with fireworks. Now in its 24th year, the Germantown Oktoberfest is the longest-running community event in Upper Montgomery County. Proceeds go to a local charity.
