Germantown's Oktoberfest is a festival for the community, organized by the community. For the past twenty-six years the Oktoberfest has been one of the heart and soul events for Germantown and the UpCounty community.

The Oktoberfest organizing committee is busily engaged in planning this year's event - contacting local crafters and businesses to show their trade, confirming the live entertainment, securing the kids' games, and lining up the fireworks to end the night! It is truly a festival unlike any other in Germantown.

There's just one more thing Oktoberfest and the community needs right now. You! If you'd like to be part of one of the Upcounty's longest running community events, this is your opportunity. The Oktoberfest committee meets at the Upcounty Regional Service building on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm. Interested volunteers are always welcome.

No experience is needed! If anyone would like to be a "part of a great Germantown tradition", we need help with the following areas:

-Sponsorship/Advertising/Publicity/Event Activities:
-Contact corporations who may wish to sponsor the event
-Contact crafters and businesses who may wish to have a booth at the event
-Write and/or distribute press releases
-Coordinate/manage the Germantown Heritage Display
-Coordinate/manage the Entertainment Stages
-Recruit and organize volunteers for the day of the event
-Distribute posters/flyers to businesses (September effort needed)
-Recruit and organize the walk-up Volunteers on the day of the event (July-Sept effort needed)

Volunteer for Oktoberfest!
